The biodegradable and compostable string clasp, developed by Biopolimer.co.uk, was awarded an honourable mention at this year's Plastpol fair, in the Plastic Products and Applications category.
Our solution represents improved opening and closing performance and durability in storage conditions, allowing it to be used effectively and competitive with traditional packaging of this type. In addition, the rate of biodegradation of the string compared to the pouch itself is similar facilitating the biodegradation of the entire product. The packaging is biodegradable according to ISO 18606 and the raw materials used are certified to EN 13432.
In this way, the string pouches using the clasp developed by Biopolymer.co.uk can be competitive in terms of use, while at the same time, due to their biodegradability, they allow the production of waste to be reduced.
